Price Correction Notification

Price Correction Notification

Like many industries we have been subject to many cost increases since the beginning of the year outside our control. Most notably to power, packaging and raw materials, we have received increases from our suppliers in all areas of up to 100%.

Despite an earlier price increase, and our best efforts we are unable to absorb these latest increases and, regrettably, from 7th July 2022 we will be increasing our prices by 11% for parts manufactured in our standard materials. However, parts manufactured in specialist materials such as Viton or Fluorosilicone will have to be looked at on an individual basis.

Existing orders and new orders placed for delivery before 7th July and call offs placed before 7th July will be charged at existing prices. After this date any new orders placed, or existing schedules will be charged at the increased rate.

Grommets Ltd to become the main Sponsor of the Kid’s Club at Henfield Leisure Centre

We are pleased to announce that we are to become the main sponsor of the Kids Club at Henfield Leisure Centre which provides essential childcare for children before and after school and during school holidays.

We have helped in the past with donations to the Kids Club and now we are delighted to have been asked to become their main sponsor by Simon Thompson, the leisure centre manager. Managing Director Jo Boorsma said “I like to support the village and in particular the Kids Club and Leisure Centre”.

We are lucky to have a facility such as this in Henfield and it’s great to be able to show our support to the local community.

Help for Ukraine

Help for Ukraine

Our MD Jo Boorsma offered to match the amount raised for Comic Relief and donate to a charity for Ukraine. Our chosen charity is Baby Lifeline which was founded by a lady called Judy Ledger from Coventry. Baby Lifeline is a unique national charity which promotes the safe care of pregnant women and newborn babies all over the UK and worldwide. The goal of the charity is to give every mother and baby the best outcome possible. As a registered nurse, Judy recognised that this was only possible by supporting those who care for them with training, equipment, and knowledge through research.

Pregnant or postpartum Ukrainian women and their babies are struggling to get the care they need. They find themselves giving birth in bomb shelters, metros, and having to evacuate hospitals.

Our donation of £275.00 will help provide vital aid to pregnant women, babies, families and healthcare professionals during this time of crisis. Baby Lifeline are sending birthing kits and other vital equipment. You can find out more here on their website https://www.babylifeline.org.uk/1000-babies

We have also made some other donations to help Ukraine. We paid £250.00 to cover fuel costs for a lorry travelling to Poland with donations which was organised by local Henfield resident Celia Emmott.

We also donated £150 worth of toiletries to local newsagent Stokes of Henfield who were organising a collection of items for Ukraine.

Charlotte, Lauren & Ben 50 Miles in March for Comic Relief Ukraine

Charlotte, Lauren & Ben 50 Miles in March for Comic Relief Ukraine

Office Manager Charlotte, together with Sales Administrator Lauren and Press Operator Ben, all worked together to complete a challenge for Comic Relief.

The challenge, named ’50 Miles in March for Comic Relief’, as the name suggests was to complete 50 miles throughout March and raise money at the same time. Charlotte opted to run her miles, Lauren opted to walk and Ben chose to cycle. Together they completed 60 miles and have raised an amazing £275.00 for Comic Relief.

Saskia Returns As Our Social Media Queen

Saskia Returns As Our Social Media Queen

We are delighted to share some very happy news that we have welcomed back our social media queen Saskia, who is the Granddaughter of our MD Jo Boorsma.

Saskia contracted Covid in September last year whilst she was 8 months pregnant. Saskia quickly became very unwell and was unable to breath. She was admitted to intensive care. Saskia was put into an induced coma and her baby was delivered in order to give her the best chance of survival. Saskia was then transferred to St Thomas in London where she was put on to a specialist life support machine called ECMO, which would effectively become her lungs and breath for her, in order to give her vital organs a rest and chance to heal. Saskia then contracted sepsis and had a collapsed lung, she was very unwell and we did not know if she would survive.

Saskia’s beautiful baby girl Betsy Mae was delivered safely and was soon able to go home with Saskia’s partner Lee; however Saskia remained in a coma and was not even aware her baby girl had been born. It was a heart breaking time for all her family. Saskia remained ‘asleep’ for 4 weeks, and a spent a total of 11 weeks in hospital.

Eventually she was able to return home and be reunited with her partner Lee, baby Betsy and her eldest daughter Eliza Grace, who had missed her Mum dearly.

Whilst Saskia has not fully returned to full health with her lungs, she is improving and we are thrilled to have her back here at Grommets HQ as our Social Media Manager.
